Delmore records has unearthed some early (pre-It’s hard to know who’s going to love you…) recordings of Karen Dalton. They’re on the rough side, but really beautiful. There’s a couple of duets with Fred Neil, and this cover of her vocal doppelganger Billy Holiday’s God Bless the Child.

Also, Leyland Kirby delivers us another foray into the surreal under his Caretaker moniker.

and finally, before they were Thee Oh Sees they were the OCs… and instead of amazing faux-garage, they played haunting lo-fi folk melodies. Their second album has been repressed on vinyl.
